DimVars

Description:
DimVars.vbi allows you to import and export dimension styles.

Overview:

Click from the toolbar to start  or enter “DimVars” without the quotes at the commandline

Select Import or Export option

Browse for '.dim' file

Current dimension style is now set to newly imported dimension style. NOTE: As a precaution if a dimension style with the same name currently exists in the drawing, DimVars will append the new style name with “_new” instead of overwriting the existing style.

 If you have the “Style” toolbar on, you will notice that the new dimension style name now appears in the “Current Dimension Style” window.  

EXPORT

Note that DimVars Export file name and file path is the same as the drawing. If a ‘.dim’ file already exists a numerically incremented prefix will be added to the exported file name to avoid overwriting the existing file.

DimVars includes 4 sample dimension styles. Also included with DimVars is DU.lsp. This handy LISP routine will allow you to select the dimensions you want to 'update' to the current dimension style.
